HR Graduate Trainee (6 Months) - Kenya

Job Type: Internship Contract (6 month program)

About the Role:  
We’re looking for a Graduate Trainee in Human Resources to join our team and learn by doing. You’ll support real projects, work with experienced HR professionals, and gain hands-on exposure to people operations in a purpose-driven organization. This role is ideal if you’re passionate about helping people thrive at work and want to grow your HR career from the ground up. 

What You’ll Learn & Do:

  • Help with hiring and onboarding new team members
  • Keep employee records and HR files organized
  • Assist with induction sessions and HR check-ins
  • Track leave and support wellness or team-building activities
  • Help run performance reviews and learning plans
  • Support internal communication and staff engagement
  • Work with other departments to support day-to-day HR needs
  • Handle sensitive info professionally and confidentially

Who you are:

  • A recent graduate or diploma holder in Human Resource Management or a related field
  • Organized, curious, and willing to learn
  • Good with people and clear in communication
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic HR tools
  • A team player with a positive, can-do mindset

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Student membership with IHRM or another HR body
  • Experience in a startup, nonprofit, or education-related space
  • A passion for creating great work environments

Program details: 

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Compensation: Unpaid (with opportunity for future roles based on performance)
  • Location: Hybrid – you’ll work both remotely and occasionally in the field or office

Technical Work Setup Requirements: 

  • Stable internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps)
  • Device with minimum specs: Core i3 processor or higher
  • 4GB RAM or higher  
  • Working microphone
