Role Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resource Officer Intern to support key HR functions within the organization. This internship is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to gain hands-on experience in HR and contribute to a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.
The HR Officer Intern will work under the guidance of the HR & Operations Manager to support recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR operations, performance processes, and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for new hires
- Maintain up-to-date employee records, contracts, and HR databases
- Help coordinate induction and orientation sessions
- Support the implementation of HR policies and employee engagement initiatives
- Track staff leave, timesheets, and coordinate wellness or team-building activities
- Contribute to HR reporting and support performance review cycles
- Participate in learning and development planning across teams
- Respond to HR-related queries with professionalism and confidentiality
- Collaborate with admin, finance, and project teams on HR-related needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resource Management or related field
- Basic understanding of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic HR systems
Desirable Attributes:
- Membership with a professional HR body (e.g., IHRM) is a plus
- Exposure to startups, consulting, or learning-focused environments
- People-centric, process-driven, and emotionally intelligent team player
Internship Duration:
6 months (unpaid, with potential for future opportunities based on performance)
Technical Work Setup Requirements:
- Stable internet connection (minimum 10 Mbps)
- Device with minimum specs: Core i3 processor or higher
- 4GB RAM or higher
- Working microphone
You'll use your personal device during virtual training.
